Last month we had the privilege of partnering with the Terling Cricket Club and Terling Ladies Cricket Club to raise funds for the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity through Christmas Tree Recycling. This combined charity and environmental care to make a positive impact on both our community and the planet.
Christmas Tree Recycling
This volunteering effort involved collecting around 300 real Christmas trees from different locations across the region. After the festive season, these trees often face an uncertain future – but we ensured they didn’t go to waste.
Our expert team took on the task of chipping the trees into bark and mulch, which can be reused for landscaping and gardening purposes. This sustainable effort reduces landfill waste and supports the environment.
Recycling natural materials like Christmas trees is an easy and impactful way to reduce our environmental footprint. By transforming waste into useful products such as bark and mulch we are helping to reduce landfill waste and to promote a healthier landscape with organic products.
Supporting the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity
This effort was not just about sustainability – it was also about supporting a wonderful cause. The Helen Rollason Cancer Charity provides vital support and care to individuals living with cancer, offering therapies, counselling, and emotional assistance to those with cancer and their loved ones.
By recycling the Christmas trees, over £29,000 of essential funds were raised for the charity, enabling them to continue their invaluable work in the community. We are honoured to have played a small part in supporting their mission.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported this effort – whether by donating a tree, volunteering, or spreading word about the effort and the charity. Your contributions have helped raise funds for the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity and made a meaningful environmental difference.
