What are the PA1 and PA6 courses
The courses are essential qualifications for anyone using pesticides in the UK. They ensure that the operatives understand the best practices and requirements for handling and application of pesticides.
- PA1 course
This covers the legislation, pesticide preparation and environmental considerations relating to safe pesticide use. It is the foundation for all pesticide courses and includes training on calculations of pesticide dilution and surface areas to cover.
- PA6 Course
This builds upon the PA1 foundations and focuses on practical training for use of pedestrian hand-held applicators like knapsack sprayers. It ensures that the operatives can apply the pesticides accurately, whilst considering the environmental impact.
